Hi there. If you are an original reader from Quick, Healthy, Delicious, thanks for sticking around. If you are a new reader, welcome!
I created this new page because while quick, healthy, and delicious, are still things that describe the way I like to cook, I felt that since completing my dietetic internship and passing my RD exam, I’ve gained a whole lot of new insight that has slightly shifted my food philosophy. Instead of focusing on super quick, super healthy meals, The Donut Dietitian will focus on how to lead a balanced life.
Fun fact about me. I love donuts. When people ask me what food I’d want to be stranded on an island with, donuts would be it. And if you follow me on instagram, you know I like to enjoy my donuts. But I don’t eat donuts every day (even thought I’d really like to).
Living YOUR healthiest life is all about discovering how balance works for YOU. Notice how I wrote you in all caps. It’s completely individual. I’m a firm believer in eating freshly prepared, whole foods as much as possible, but at the same time, enjoying life too. Enjoying life for me usually involves fun meals out and donuts, obviously. When I’m not eating though, I find balance through running, fitness, and traveling (and coffee powers me through it all).
I want this blog to be a place where I share healthy recipes / meal ideas, my adventures, and fitness inspiration. Essentially, I’m giving you an all access pass to how I find balance in my life. You guys, I’m constantly asked how I can enjoy donuts even though I’m a dietitian. It’s a ridiculous question because dietitians are human too; donuts are a part of the balance I’ve found, and hope to inspire you to find too.
